More fairing work
I've soon completed all the fairing works that is possible to to at this stage. Just some dimpling, sanding (with spray filler) and perhaps a layer of primer. I'm really looking forward to start on the aft fuselage😊
Just now I'm on my way to Aero Friedrichshafen were Vans are having a stand, and the first flying RV-14 in Europe shall be on display. I'm really looking forward to that😊
The nut plate in the aft part was very difficult to rivet. I tried differentechniqueses, but ended up taping my bucking bar to a steel bar.
All nut plates installed.
Next was the top fairing on the rudder. It was quite straight forward.
It was required to grind a groove in the front to get it flush.
This is the top fairing on the VS. It has to be closed by a patch of fiberglass (see 12-07 Step 3).
A final strip of fiberglass is glued into the HS tip fairings.
